Kylie Jenner Opens Up About Plastic Surgery Allegations

woman face before and after nose surgerySince she rose to Instagram fame in 2014, Kylie Jenner has been at the center of many a plastic surgery rumor. First and foremost, her plump lips were in question, in addition to her breasts and other plastic surgery procedures.

For a while, the teen — who is a half sister to the Kim, Khloe, and Kourtney Kardashian — kept silent and refused to comment.

But in a recent and very public online manifesto, Jenner spoke up, admitting to her lip injections. As far as the other surgeries, however, she claims they never happened.

“As of now, I only have lip fillers,” Jenner wrote. “Like I’ve said before, it has always been a huge insecurity of mine and I wanted to make a change.

Indeed, at 18 years old, Jenner seems to be like any other teenager struggling with insecurities. More and more, teens are opting for plastic surgery. In 2014 alone, Americans underwent 15.6 million plastic surgery procedures, and stories such as “back to school plastic surgery” have been trending as of late.

While Jenner has denied having additional surgeries, she makes it clear that there’s no shame in having plastic surgery. “If down the line, I get to a point where I’m really uncomfortable with something on my body, I’m not against changing it,” Jenner wrote.

And Jenner isn’t the only celebrity speaking out about plastic surgery. Earlier this summer, pop star Iggy Azalea opened up to Seventeen regarding her recent rhinoplasty, which was the second most common cosmetic surgery in 2014.

In her interview, she went on to talk about how plastic surgery doesn’t always have to be a shameful topic.

“It’s no easy feat to live with your flaws and accept yourself — and it’s no easy feat to change yourself. Either way you look at it, it’s a tough journey,” Azalea told Seventeen.

And cosmetic surgery isn’t always solely about changing one’s appearance. Earlier this year in Chicago, a man underwent the first facelift procedure with the purpose of alleviating migraine pain.
