Interior designers and anyone with a penchant for interior decorating can rejoice this January, when new area rugs will feature the 2015 Color of the Year. According to Home Accents Today, Oriental Weavers, an area rug manufacturer, has a partnership with color institute Pantone.
The partnership allows Oriental Weavers to design and manufacture area rugs featuring the Color of the Year months before the official announcement of what the color is. The two companies have partnered since 2013. The Color of the Year for 2015 is Marsala.
Pantone describes Marsala as a “naturally robust and earthy wine red” which compliments many skin tones, is appealing to both men and women, and is the right balance of dramatic and grounding.
“We are extremely proud of our new Pantone Universe rugs featuring Marsala 18-1438, the new Pantone Color of the Year 2015,” said Jonathan Witt, senior vice president of Oriental Weavers. “After seeing the countless media stories Pantone received on the Marsala announcement, consumers across the country will flock to buy items incorporating the new Color of the Year 2015.:
The rugs will debut January 7-10 at the Atlanta International Area Rug Market and at the Las Vegas Market January 18-22.
People who are interested in owning the new rugs should take care into consideration, to keep the rugs clean and prolong the life of it without compromising the rich color.
Area rugs can accumulate up to a few pounds of dirt per year, as well as thousands of dust mites, and stains. Though regular maintenance like vacuuming thoroughly and spot cleaning can help, experts do recommend a professional cleaning at least once every 12 to 16 months.
