Winter Grilling: Keep the Flame in Your Grilling Romance All Season Long

Summer is a fantastic season for backyard parties, beach vacations, and of course, grilling. In fact, many people look forward to summer all year long for the sole reason that they’ll be able to grill again!

But Winter doesn’t have to mean the end of your romance with good grilling. In fact, you can grill all year long and keep the burgers, hot dogs, and ribs flowing for the whole family. Here are a few tips to help you learn how to grill during the winter.

Keep the Grill Close

Even the best grilling-enthusiasts know better than to keep the grill far, far away from the house in the dead of winter. If you can, try to minimize the number of steps it takes to get from your door to the grill. This will make a hasty retreat indoors much more feasible.

Keep an Eye on the Propane

Propane is an incredibly helpful gas, especially in the wintertime. After all, there’s a reason more than 35,000 industrial sites rely on it for space heating, soldering, cooking, and countless other uses. Keep in mind that even propane can act temperamentally in the extreme cold, so make sure you have extra on hand and that you handle your propane tank with extreme caution.

Keep a Lid on it!

A watched pot never boils, but even more than that, your food won’t cook if it’s exposed to the cold air! It may be tempting to show the family what you’re working on, but if you want it to cook properly, then you need to make sure the grill cover is on while the food is cooking.

Enlist Help

If there’s snow on the ground, it’s going to inhibit your grill from heating properly. Enlist the help of the whole family to clear the area around the grill before you start cooking. Not only will it make grilling easier, it can be fun for the whole family. Whoever clears the most snow gets the first burger!

The weather should never stop you from doing what you love, especially if what you love is creating amazing food for the whole family.
