  Travel and Entertainment LifeTips

Airfare:
Consolidators buy seats at deep discounts on flights with plenty of empty seats, then wholesale them directly to consumers at 20-50 percent off. Most of these tickets are nonexchangeable and nonrefundable, so read the fine print. Two recommended consolidators are Air 4 Less (800-Air4Less) and World Travel Network (800-926-4400).

Entertaining:
Serve food that would appeal to a large number of people, and check with your guests about any food allergies or food restrictions; for example, one of your guests may be a vegan. Also, make food that is easy for your guests to handle. For instance, spaghetti is a bit foreboding, in terms of eating daintily, and asparagus can leave people unsure as to the proper method of eating it.
